About Alums & Friends
To build a network of projects and services, including on-going funding for these projects and services, intended to support current and future students of George Washington High School.
The Alums & Friends of GW is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which has been in existence for seven years. It was established to provide resources, both financial and in-kind contributions, in the event that the school or Denver Public Schools (DPS) would be unable to fund specific projects.
Most recently, our group has supported the ambitious Gateway Project, which is close to completion. Students, staff, and visitors will enter the school through the newly designed and landscaped north entrance. The Alums & Friends of GW helped to provide a civil engineer, who happened to be a GW Alum, to assist in the planning. Additionally, we gave matching funds to ensure that the project moved forward.
Other accomplishments during our organization's tenure include the following:
Established an Alums & Friends website (new site currently under construction).
